The Birmingham Small Business Accelerator brings together a committed group of small business owners for a 12-week, action-focused journey through the foundational tools and concepts of Traction.
Each week, you’ll dive into 1-2 essential disciplines—learning the framework, practicing the tools, and taking real steps to improve how your business operates.

If I do not live in the city of Birmingham can I still apply? |
Yes. We do have two spots available for a partial scholarship for business owners that do not live in the City Of Birmingham. The cost is $639. This includes the 12 week accelerator, 6 months of membership at Forge, 3 quarterly check ins. |
If I run a non-profit organization can I apply for this accelerator? |
Yes! If you are the leader of the organization, this accelerator is perfect for you. All of the principals learned in the course can be applied exactly the same to a non-profit organization. You will be learning systems, accountability and strategy to grow and scale your organization. |
Can someone else from my team participate in this program with me? |
Yes! In fact we encourage it! We believe having someone from your leadership team (or a committed employee) will cause this accelerator to have an even bigger impact on your business because there will be more buy in and understanding with that team member to relay to the rest of your team. |
Can I bring a different person from my team to each meeting? |
We encourage the same person to come with you each week and the two of you do the work together. This will ensure that both of you are on the same page at all times. |
When will the accelerator meet? |
We meet every Wednesday morning for 12 weeks from 8:30 - 11:00. |
Will there be work required outside of class time? |
Yes. Each week we will cover a new topic. The topics build on each other. To get the most out of the accelerator, it is expected that you do the homework in between sessions. The homework will generally take between 30 minutes to two hours. |
If I meet all of the qualifications except being in business for two years, should I still apply? |
Yes. We are looking for business owners/leaders, that are working full time in their business with a growth mindset. If you have not been in business for two years, still apply and we can determine during the interview process if you/your organization is ready for this accelerator. |
When will I find out if I am accepted into the accelerator? |
We will be accepting applications through July 31. We will have a short phone interview after we receive your application. Everyone we will announce acceptance the week of August 7. After acceptance, you will also have a "get to know you" zoom call with the facilitator of the program. |
